Advanced Technology
Every Breath Counts. Every Second Matters.
At PROTON MEDICAL, we develop innovative solutions for healthcare. Our Intelligent Distribution Module (MDI) is a cutting-edge device that optimizes medical ventilation in high-demand environments. Its advanced design enables precise and safe control of each breath, providing a quick and adaptable response tailored to every patient’s needs.
The Process in Action
How the Intelligent Distribution Module (IDM) Transforms Ventilation
Discover how the Intelligent Distribution Module (IDM) enhances the capacity of a single ventilator by distributing air independently and safely to two patients. This diagram illustrates the system’s airflow in action, ensuring controlled and efficient ventilation for both patients.
Let’s take a closer look...
On the left side of the system is the circuit designated for Patient A. This includes a manual valve that allows for manual regulation of gas flow to the patient, as well as a dedicated outlet through which the breathable gas is delivered.
On the right side is the main gas inlet coming from the ventilator, which supplies both Patient A’s and Patient B’s circuits. The circuit for Patient B, also located on the right side, features its own manual valve for independently adjusting the flow and an outlet designed to deliver breathable gas to Patient B.
System Features
Intelligent and Customized Air Distribution
The IDM ensures personalized airflow distribution for each patient, enabling a single ventilator to serve two individuals independently—an ideal solution for emergencies and healthcare crises.
Pressurization Unit
Pressurizes the air before dividing it into two streams, ensuring stable and turbulence-free distribution.
Output Bifurcation System
With its innovative design, the IDM allows precise splitting of airflow, adapting to the specific needs of each patient.
Non-Return Valves
Equipped with non-return valves at each outlet, the IDM prevents cross-flow between patients, ensuring safe and independent ventilation.
Air Reservoir
Features an integrated air reservoir that stabilizes the flow before distribution, guaranteeing smooth and consistent ventilation for each patient.
Quick Decisions, Secure Outcomes: Real-Time Monitoring for the Control You Need
Real-Time Monitoring and Intuitive Control
The IDM’s HMI interface enables medical personnel to monitor each patient’s vital parameters in real time, facilitating immediate adjustments and precise decision-making. Key parameters include:
Parameters:
- Tidal Volume: Displays the volume of air delivered in each breath (mL).
- Peak Pressure: Indicates the maximum air pressure reached during ventilation (cmH₂O).
- PEEP: Manages positive end-expiratory pressure to keep alveoli open (cmH₂O).
- Peak Flow Rate: Records the maximum airflow rate (mL/s) for each patient.
- Flow and Pressure Graphs: Real-time visualization of flow and pressure trends, helping medical staff identify irregularities and anticipate adjustments.
Complete Safety with Every Use
Universal Compatibility
Works seamlessly with most ventilators on the market using standardized 22 mm tubing, requiring no complex modifications.
Ventilation Modes
Supports both invasive and non-invasive ventilation, adapting to diverse clinical needs.
Fault Tolerance
The IDM continues operating uninterrupted during power outages, ensuring a continuous air supply.
Portable Design
Compact dimensions and lightweight construction make it easy to transport and store, ideal for emergency use.
Testing and Validation
The IDM has undergone rigorous testing to be certified as a medical device.
- Functional Safety Tests: Assessments of precision, electrical safety, and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Live Testing: Functionality and durability tests conducted in simulated patient conditions.
- Artificial Lung Trials: Validation of proper device operation in controlled scenarios.
Our IDM meets international certifications that guarantee its safety and quality:
- ISO 13485: Quality management system for medical devices.
- CE Certification: Complies with European conformity requirements.
- FDA EUA: Emergency use authorization by the FDA.
- International Safety Standards: Compliant with EN 60601-1, IEC 60601-2, and others.
